Extreme Networks today announces its participation in educational sessions at the upcoming Ethernet Technology Summit, a new conference featuring the latest advances in Ethernet networking, to be held 24th-25th February 2010 at the San Jose Wyndham Hotel, California, US. Extreme Networks executives will participate in the following Ethernet Summit sessions:
- Wednesday 24th February at 3:00 p.m.: Paul Hooper, chief marketing officer, will present in Session 103 on the role of networking within a virtualised environment.
- Thursday 25th February at 8:30 a.m.: Kevin Ryan, director of Data Centre solutions, will present in session 201 on energy efficiency strategies for the data centre.
In the first session, Extreme Networks will examine the function of networking as enterprise and managed hosting service provider infrastructure evolves to embrace virtualisation. As virtualisation becomes more dynamic, and as mobility and cloud applications become mainstream in data centres, the network will need to play an increasingly important role in the virtualised world.
In the second session, Extreme Networks will address the increasingly important role that energy efficiency is playing in data centre architectures. With the growth of compute power in ever decreasing footprints, rising energy prices and mounting pressure to reduce carbon emissions, energy efficiency is growing in importance.
