NanoKTN’s NanoRegen Focus Group to Champion Successes in Tissue Engineering

The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN), one of the UK’s primary knowledge-based networks for Micro and Nanotechnologies, is pleased to announce the date of its next NanoRegen focus group, hosted in collaboration with regeNer8 and the Chemistry Innovation and HealthTech and Medicines KTN. The event will look at the advances in nano-structured materials and scaffolds for use in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine and will provide a platform for delegates to learn about funding opportunities.

NanoKTN Announces Success of UK Nanotechnology Mission to Russia



The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN), one of the UK’s primary knowledge-based networks for Micro and Nanotechnologies, and the Institute of Nanotechnology (IoN), a professional membership organisation for the nanotechnology industry, are pleased to announce the success of the 2010 International NanoMicroClub (INMC) NanoMission to Russia. The mission, supported by Technology Strategy Board funding, was established to support UK nanotechnology SMEs in international business development.

The mission team had a total of 64 meetings, with 32 opportunities being followed-up and discussed further, and two of the companies are in the process of applying for investment funding from the Russian Nanotechnology Corporation (RUSNANO). RUSNANO is a Russian government organisation established to support the commercialisation of nanotechnology.

Surrey economy is rightsizing to stay profitable

Survey results suggest local businesses are leading the economic recovery

A survey of Surrey businesses and the local economy, commissioned by leading IT solutions consultancy ramsac and its partners chartered accountants PKF and law firm Hart Brown, has given a fascinating insight into the performance of the county’s businesses. In the survey of the top 250 companies in Surrey, the results show a 9.3% fall in the number of average sales, but an impressive 57% rise in pre-tax profits - suggesting businesses are concentrating on streamlining their performance.
