FutureSoft, Inc., a leader in endpoint security solutions, today warned UK businesses to prevent unsolicited use of Instant Messaging (IM) in the workplace or face the consequences of malware running riot on corporate networks. This follows startling research from YouGov which found that although 28 per cent of employees used an IM application at least once a week, most were unaware of the risk posed by their behaviour, with 90 per cent of those surveyed believing that their work computer is either fairly or very secure.
