Ich bin ein Berliner!

Well maybe not, but the flow of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the office has certainly helped the team keep going during a rainy and very busy week at Winchester House.

Over the past nine years MCC International has had the privilege of accompanying the crème de la crème of IT journalists from across Europe to the cities of Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Rome, Budapest, Warsaw, Madrid and The Hague for the annual ISSE (Information Security Solutions Europe) conference. From 5th – 7th October 2010 ISSE returns to Germany's captial city and once again the team at MCC International is working hard with Revolution Events and eema to promote what promises to be the best ISSE ever.

Extreme Networks' Direct Attach Data Centre Architecture Delivers High Performance

Extreme Networks today announced that it is expanding support for its Direct Attach™ virtualised data centre network architecture for VMware environments. Working with its data centre ecosystem partner Exar, Extreme Networks will demonstrate the benefits of virtual machine switching moved back into the network.

The joint data centre solution for VMware features Exar’s X3100 10 Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Card (10GbE NIC) and Extreme Networks’ Summit® X650. The joint solution expands on Extreme Networks’ introduction of Direct Attach with its data centre product portfolio at Las Vegas Interop. The Direct Attach data centre architecture, a Best of Interop finalist, features Extreme Networks’ implementation of virtual machine switching performed in the network rather than in servers. With this innovative approach, Direct Attach reduces network switching tiers by eliminating the virtual switch tier, and thus reduces cost, end–to-end latency, and security issues in the virtualised network while simplifying management.

Out with the old in with the new

On Thursday 23rd September, the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow will be filming at Winchester Cathedral, just a short walk along the river Itchen from MCC International’s office at Winchester House.
However, whilst Fiona Bruce and her team of experts uncover the history of old family heirlooms and unearth unexpected treasures that have been gathering dust on the mantelpiece for years, we are getting very excited about a one day event that will help to create the innovations and inventions of the future.

MCC International is proud to be a sponsor of Solent Synergy, a not-for-profit organisation, which supports local innovative companies, provides access to information and strengthens links between businesses, investors and the academic community across the Solent region.

Working together with Solent Synergy and the design agency, CHIEF, MCC International is helping to promote Collaborate2Innovate 2010, a one-day event that will take place on Tuesday 2nd November in Portsmouth. This conference and exhibition will offer businesses, entrepreneurs and technology specialists the opportunity to forge strategic partnerships with other like-minded companies

For more information about the event please visit: http://www.collaborate2innovate2010.com/.

You have got to be in it to win it!

Have you come across a competition in a newspaper or magazine and thought to yourself ‘how many people really enter these things?’ Well, you might be surprised to learn that the answer is in often many thousands.

Running a competition and giveaway programme as part of a new product launch or promotional offer can be a great way to secure valuable page space in target media (whether in print, online or even TV and radio) for a much smaller cost than the display advertising equivalent. Furthermore, it can also be possible to purchase, or in some instances receive free of charge, a list of entrants (including email addresses) of those who have opted-in to receiving third party information.

MCC International recently managed a campaign across the gadget magazines and woman’s lifestyle publications on behalf of one of its software clients and the response has been phenomenal.

An attractive prize bundle of a laptop, digital camera, MP3 player, USB stick and some software provided to be to very enticing indeed for many readers and Stuff magazine alone generated more than 8,000 email entries. Meanwhile, Take A Break magazine has caused the desks at Winchester House to be swamped with almost 4,000 postcards, arriving in all shapes and sizes and ranging from old birthday cards, cut out cereal packets, to a home made teddy bear! And the competition still has a few days left to run.

I has certainly made for an interesting, varied and full mail bag every morning.

Following Capscan’s first study into IDQM in 2008, the new report identified that although organisations perceived the quality of their International contact data to be sufficient, few have the necessary processes, tools or strategic will to protect its integrity.
