First Annual Green IT Survey Reveals That IT Departments Guilty Of "Greenwashing"

Extreme Networks and Data Integration today announced the results of the first annual Green IT survey. The analysis of the needs of UK public and private sector organisations found that 64% of respondents cited Green IT as a requirement when purchasing new IT equipment. The survey also found that only 20% of respondents actively measure IT-related energy spend. It is important that businesses measure IT-related energy spend to measure carbon footprint reductions, instead of doing Green IT for the sake of it.
