Extreme Networks Improves Public Sector Efficiency At Test Valley Borough Council

Extreme Networks today announces that Test Valley Borough Council, in Hampshire, has upgraded its IT infrastructure across all four of its sites using a selection of Summit® X150, X250, X350 and X450 family switches. The new IP-based network has been implemented with Extreme Networks’ reseller, Neptune Consultancy, as part of a council-wide initiative to provide all employees with a resilient IT network that would build user confidence and improve productivity.

The new future-proofed network also provides Test Valley Borough Council with the foundations needed to roll out cost-efficient VoIP telephony, as well as important data back up and storage enhancements. Test Valley Borough Council’s Head of IT Services, Tony Fawcett explains: “The previous network infrastructure we had was coming to the end of its supportable life. We were beginning to experience lots of support and infrastructure issues that didn’t comply with our best practise policy.”
