Extreme Networks today announces that it has been chosen by Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology to implement a new IT network. The new high-speed infrastructure will be built using Extreme Networks’ Summit switches, to deliver improved reliability, network security, wireless access and Voice over IP across two campuses in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
The network is scheduled for completion in October 2010 and is being installed by in partnership with Extreme Networks’ Gold partner, Vodafone. Extreme Networks’ 61 Summit X650, X450 and X350 switches will connect the main campus and the Radbrook campus, which include 22 dedicated IT suites, using 10 GB fibre cabling.
